The Oregon Clean Vehicle Rebate Program (OCVRP) is returning August 25 through November 4, 2026, giving eligible Oregon drivers another opportunity to save on qualifying electric vehicles.
If you're considering an EV, here are a few important things to know before you shop.
1. There Are Two Rebate Options
The program offers two rebate types depending on your eligibility.
The Standard Rebate provides up to $2,000 toward an eligible new battery electric vehicle (BEV) and up to $1,500 toward an eligible new plug-in hybrid (PHEV).
Income-qualified households may be eligible for the Charge Ahead Rebate, which offers up to $7,500 for a new BEV, $5,000 for a new PHEV, and rebates on qualifying used electric vehicles. Standard and Charge Ahead Rebates cannot be combined.
2. Timing Matters
The 2026 rebate program is only available from August 25 through November 4, 2026. Only eligible vehicles purchased or leased while the program is open qualify, and rebate applications must be submitted within six months of the purchase date.
3. Not Every Vehicle or Buyer Qualifies
Eligibility depends on factors like household income, vehicle type, and program requirements. New for 2026, individuals are limited to two Oregon Clean Vehicle Rebates over their lifetime, and additional eligibility requirements now apply to qualifying used electric vehicles.
4. Work With a Knowledgeable Dealership
